Pictoral Progress
…if you want to call this a ‘picture’, that is
Okay…give me a break. Throw me a bone here, as Dr. Evil would say.
I’m a lousy photographer. That, and my cell phone is not exactly what we in the biz refer to as a “camera”.
Here I am at 6.1% bodyfat and
five weeks from my peak.
Still, I thought you would all like to see me in my birthday suit (cropped for the entire family, thank goodness) about five weeks out from my October peak.
This is the condition that my fasting/training and Every Other Day Diet system of eating has allowed me to reach.
For those of you interested, I am currently 6.1% bodyfat — the lowest I have ever been to-date — and weigh 194-196 pounds. I was about 195 in this picture. I probably do not need to say this, but the photo is unretouched and raw as you can get.
Let’s put these results into perspective. The shots in my gallery were at 6.5% bodyfat and 181-186 pounds, taken roughly four years ago. That’s an increase of over 11 pounds of muscle with lower bodyfat. Not too shabby for an almost 44-year-old natural bodybuilder.
The legs look really good, too, but I had to sacrifice some muscle size in order to get leaner.
If you look closely, you can see stronger obliques than in my previous studio shots and better ab thickess. You can also see the veins in the lower abs — a sign that I am reaching peak condition. While I have a little more to do (there is still fat in between the abs, which is the last to go for anyone) I am pleased with the results. And, of course, the final studio shots will be lit properly, I will do the obligatory “pump yourself (clap) UP” jazz, and I won’t be…well, just stepping out of a cheesy hotel shower.
The pocket obesity? It’s still there, but MAN has it shrunk in size! I am very optimistic as to my ability to achieve 4% bodyfat, give or take, by the end of October.
Stay tuned. I promise I won’t be behind the lens in five weeks.

impressive. my boyfriend is trying to lose 10 lbs. in 1 week and about 20 or 30 more in the weeks to come. He has quit drinking alcohol cold turkey, walks and does simple exercises at home without gym equipment or a membership. Is he physically possible to lose that much that fast? Do you need more information about him and if so, what?

Justin;
No, this is NOT safe nor recommended. If he loses 10 pounds in a week, he will surely lose muscle mass and dehydrate himself.
Shoot for 5-6 pounds the first week on a diet, but keep in mind MOST of this will be water. Fat will drop at about a pound per week, unless you do some of the tricks I have been blogging about.
The most amout of fat I have dropped in a week has been four pounds. That was freaky…and rare. Two is ideal.
